Fashion Show
It finally arrived the fashion show, it has been the driving force behind my work. The opportunity to be part of a fashion show, maybe the only time I will experience this type of event. I was so excited and loved every minute of it. Fantastic to see my collection on models as a whole group, what could be more brilliant than this (nothing in my opinion). We did 2 shows and when the last one was finished I wanted to do it all again. The models were amazing and 2 of my close friends were able to take part, representing the more grown up look, this made the day for me. Sharing the experience with all my close friends and family. A moment to remember for ever and marking the final of my five years at Colchester School Of Art and Design.

New Designers
Setting up the stand at New Designers 2012. Buzzing atmosphere it looks really good here.
It has a real kinda shop feeling this works really well with how we've designed our stand.
The bright orange letters really stand out.

Hat No.2
Here is the shape of the second hat in my final collection.
"One like a wombat prowled obtuse and furry, One like a ratel tumbled hurry skurry."
Accessories to show the goblin men in Christina Rossetti's poem 'Goblin Market'.

Screen Printing
Screen printing sweatshirts for my FMP, these prints were inspired by 17th century wallpaper uncovered in Horace Walpoles House, Strawberry Hill. The wallpaper wasn't quite intact and had started to decay. I wanted to show this ageing process, and screen printing shows the feel of that decay.
Cotton loopback sweatshirt fabric was an important choice to print on, the aged effect is similar to the feeling you get from a well loved sweatshirt.
Each colour way helps to tell the colour story of my collection.

Woven Fabric
Picking up some of my fabric from Vanners, there was some of my fabric still on the loom.
The circle skirt made from a selection of my woven fabric the result of a 11 week wait. Inspired by the techniques of Shingo Sato.

Printed Lycra tights
Print and pattern are the dominant features of my collection. This fabric has been digitally printed onto lycra and will become a selection of ankleless and toeless tights to cover all legs in my final line up.
Kitty Hat
First stage of making my own hat. This has been a very exciting process. It was my intention to create hats to show the goblin side of my collection. Cat-faced as described by Christina Rossetti.
The Wonder of Shingo
Here is some more of my experimentation with Shingo Sato 3D pattern cutting techniques. A twist in the fabric, to show interesting detail. Simple technique with amazing effects.

Magic Shingo
We were lucky enough to have a visit from Shingo Sato the master of 3D pattern cutting.
He showed us pieces from his vast collection of samples.
Each one pushes the boundaries of the normal pattern cutting procedure.
The results were truly inspiring.
My absolute favourite the Vortex dress.
The Vortex
He also held a workshop so we could put some of his techniques into practice. Learning a few of his tricks to achieve beautiful results.
Here is the finished skirt adding godets into the skirt and interesting seam lines.
This was a fantastic opportunity and we were very lucky to have Shingo visit us.

Circle Circle Circle
This is outfit 1. A circle in a circle in a circle in fact 6 circles, each with a different print. This process was inspired by the work of Shingo Sato's vortex dress. I wanted to take the inspiration of the sixties mod symbol and create a dress. It requires a lot of ease while sewing, but eventually it comes together I hope this will create some drama in my collection and it really allows me to tell the story of goblin market with the 6 different prints.
